St. Hanshaugen
Text: Ida Frisch & Christina Skreiberg
St. Hanshaugen, apart from all the uphill climbs, reminds us in the editorial team of some of Europe’s most dignified cities. Don’t you think? Cities where people ride old bicycles, wear long coats, and are always heading somewhere. Green parks, beautiful townhouses – a place where people seem to really live their lives. And they do. We do. You do!
Live your ultimate Lysløypa-life: start with an açai bowl at Smakeriet Kafé, bringing a taste of Brazil to the neighborhood. You’ve got a full day ahead in St. Hanshaugen, round it off with pizza at Zio Pizza. And if there’s something to celebrate (say, being alive this year too), take someone you love to Little Wolf and spoil yourselves – because life is also meant to be lived over good food. These places are in Lysløypa, so don’t forget your book!
But St. Hanshaugen is also the books from St. Hanshaugen Bokhandel, tucked under your arm. A coffee at Raades Hagekafé. And brilliant little shops that all happen to start with B: Bislett Bok (self-explanatory if you ad an extra O), Bislett Delikatesse (also self-explanatory, and oh, so delicious), and Bestinn interiors, all independent, quality-driven, and worth a visit (or ten).
And then there’s the park. The sun rising or setting over Oslo from the top of St. Hanshaugen Park gives us an instant hit of sweet nostalgia. Off you go now, use the city.
