    Along the road at Galgeberg lies the Progress Party's worst nightmare: a petrol station that has become a hip and cool coffee bar. What used to be the smoking room for the mechanics from the garage next door is now Oslo's smallest coffee kiosk! The icing on the cake is that it's housed in a little gem of a building, designed by architect Paul Hoel in 1935.


    This independent little shop uses independent suppliers and has become a meeting place for all of Vålerenga, with no fewer than 56 co-owners from the neighbourhood. In just eleven square metres, they sell pastries and coffee from the star roastery Jacu and other specialty coffee roasters. This is a queer-friendly, family-friendly and dog-friendly place that is safe and warm for everyone. The heart here is big, and they host plant markets, concerts and bike workshops, where the profits often go to emergency aid in Gaza.
