30% off today's coffee and a slice of classic cheesecake for max 2 people
Text: Nora K. Sæter & Christina Skreiberg
Once upon a time there was a hardworking and thoroughly lovely Spaniard named Diego Hernández who worked as a pastry chef in Barcelona, España. He had a dream, or a sueño: he wanted to start his own patisserie. He moved to Oslo, and in the summer of 2024 the neighborhood café Hernández Oslo was born, on a street corner in Sagene. Since then, word has spread about Diego's, dare we say, FAMOUS Basque cheesecake, and he's gone and opened a new place right up the same street: House Hernández, which also serves lunch dishes. The dream is really taking off! Why don't both you and I take inspiration from Diego; let's reach for our dreams!
His Basque cheesecakes have gone viral. Some come with deliciously dripping sauces, but we want to vouch for the classic. Sometimes all it takes is a classic, silky-smooth, perfectly browned slice of cake with no fuss. At least for us! And sometimes it just might be that Oslo's best bun is actually a cheesecake. (That last one was for you, Vink.)
