What happens when you combine porridge with bold energy and nerdy exploration? That was Lasse’s goal when he opened Denmark’s first porridge bar in 2011: to redefine the very concept of porridge – and to show Danes that porridge can taste insanely good. Rooted in the Nordic region and inspired by kitchens from all over the world, they make porridge for every meal of the day in their cozy porridge bars. In 2024, they opened their first porridge bar in Norway, at Grünerøkka.

With a focus on organic, local, and seasonal ingredients, Grød serves both sweet and savory porridges, but also oat waffles, açaí bowls, hoisin kale salad, risotto dishes, and more. They aim for 0% waste – for example, today’s oat porridge becomes tomorrow’s oat waffle. They also host “social runs” once a month, where people run together and share porridge afterward. Because it’s about more than just porridge – it’s about bold energy and love between every line.
