    Text: Nora K. Sæter

When a café calls itself Espresso Bar with a capital E, you know it’s one of a kind. Evita has been part of the cityscape for many years, and rightfully so. Over time, they’ve served up quality coffee, raw cakes, brewing gear, small bites, and a seriously good vibe. The walls echo the 1970s in shades of orange, yellow, and brown (it’s worth a visit for the interior alone!).

Elisabeth Toth started Evita 28 years ago. Back then, the idea of “going to a café” was still a foreign concept – people were more used to pairing cigars with something alcoholic. She managed to create a warm, inclusive atmosphere where you can show up solo, meet new people, and feel part of something. We cheer for the places that stick around, and we hope to see Evita for another 28+ years to come.
