Here, movement, emotion, and wordless art take center stage – crossing boundaries of language, age, and background (okay, maybe a few words sneak in now and then – anything goes here). Since opening in 2008 in a stylish old industrial building by the Akerselva river, Dansens Hus has helped lift contemporary dance from niche to something many can connect with.

From the bold and political to the playful and poetic, the program always makes room for new perspectives. With 30–40 performances a year from all over the world, Dansens Hus celebrates diversity, accessibility, and art that resonates. Their goal?
