At the very tip of Tjuvholmen you'll find one of the city's finest buildings, mirrored in the Oslo fjord: The Astrup Fearnley Museum, a private museum for contemporary art. The building was designed by the world-renowned architect Renzo Piano and is a work of art in itself. Oh, aren't we lucky!

The museum shows changing exhibitions of leading international and Norwegian contemporary art and houses the Astrup Fearnley Collection, one of Norway's most important and extensive private art collections. Here you can see iconic works such as Jeff Koons' giant porcelain figure of Michael Jackson and Bubbles and Anselm Kiefer's remarkable lead bookshelf, The High Priestess/Zweistromland.

It's just a short walk from Oslo City Hall and Aker Brygge, along the harbour promenade, out to the museum, which is surrounded by the Tjuvholmen sculpture park (in summer you can also enjoy the sandy beach right behind the museum).
