The summer I discovered my neighborhood restaurant Vesuvio - it was a few years ago, and they were located in a small place on Bjerregaardsgate - I ate there almost every week for the following months. With the kids, with my husband, alone, with friends and friends of friends. This was a discovery that had to be enjoyed, again and again, and most importantly, shared!

Vesuvio is a small family business, led by Neapolitan Francesco Solimeo. In the spring of 2024, they outgrew their location in Bjerregaardsgate (where they still offer takeout and seating) and opened a restaurant in a larger space on Thereses gate in Bislett.

Francesco is passionate about offering great, authentic food from Italy, in an authentic environment. He excels at it; in 2023, Francesco won the Norwegian Championship for Best Gourmet Pizza!

Visit them and indulge in a treat! Many’s favorite is “N’duja & burrata.” And by the way, a gluten-free crust can be chosen for several pizzas!
