The Golden Chimp closed its doors at Grønland in Oslo in December 2024, but has reopened at a new location — hooray! This text is therefore about the old place, but the concept remains the same, and the food is just as good! Enjoy!

Somewhere between Tøyen and Grønland lies a small restaurant so cozily decorated that at first glance, it might feel like you’re peeking into someone’s living room as you walk by. But don’t walk by (!) because at The Golden Chimp, the door is open five days a week, offering top-class dim sum in truly cozy surroundings.

Since its opening in 2017, the restaurant has earned a well-deserved reputation for serving the best dumplings in town. They aim to be innovative and playful with their menu while bringing together Japanese and Chinese culture through food and drink. Never tried king crab dumplings before? It's about time! These might just be Oslo’s best dumplings.
